Osceola's Scholarship Award Program

The Osceola Business Association is proud to announce its 2008 Ned Warner Scholarship finalist Melinda Goddard.

Melinda is a 2008 graduate of Penn High School.  She graduated with High Honors in the top 15% of her class.  Melinda was active in community and Penn High School activities and events.  She will be studying for a Nursing Degree at Ball State University.

When the OCBA Scholarship Committee announced the scholarship at the Penn High School Senior Awards Assembly, Melinda was not in attendance.  Instead of being honored at the awards assembly, Melinda was working at Martins Supermarket to save for college expenses.  After announcing Melinda as the Scholarship finalist, the committee left the awards assembly and traveled directly to Martins Supermarket to surprise her with the scholarship award.  The store manager had Melinda paged to the front of the store, where the committee surprised her with a public proclamation.

 Osceola Promotes Education

Every spring the Osceola Business Association awards a scholarship to a deserving local high school senior.  The successful applicant is enrolled to attend full time at an accredited institute of higher learning.  The scholarship is renewable, when we receive a note from the scholar sharing their academic and community experiences, along with documents verifying full time status and a minimum B average.

Our scholars are successful students that become lawyers, teachers, engineers, businessmen, healthcare providers, scientists, and  ministers.
